Clear Next Steps for Supporting Your Child

Redwood Literacy has supported thousands of students since 2018—and along the way, we’ve supported parents through the overwhelm, uncertainty, and second-guessing that often comes with supporting a struggling learner.

This cohort takes the framework Redwood has used for years to support families and puts it into an easy-to-follow program—so parents can move forward with clarity, confidence, and a plan to support their child at home.

Why the Redwood Roadmap

There’s a lot of information out there. The hard part is knowing what will help your child.

When your child is struggling, it’s common to end up with a long list of suggestions: recommendations from school, advice from other parents, blog posts and social media tips, Google searches late at night, programs and services that all sound promising...

And while some of that information can be helpful, it can also feel overwhelming—especially when you’re trying to decide what to do first and how to stay consistent. Many families tell us they feel stuck wondering: Where do we start? How do we know what will actually help our child? How do we follow through long enough to see progress?
The Redwood Roadmap was built for this exact moment.

The Redwood Roadmap helps you stop guessing—and start taking clear, supported action.

When you’re supporting a struggling learner, it’s easy to feel like you’re doing a lot—but still not sure if it’s the right thing.

This program helps you:
Choose what to focus on first
Put the right supports in place at home
Follow through with consistency
Get expert guidance every step of the way

What It Is

The Redwood Roadmap Cohort is an 8-week guided parent program where you build a clear, realistic plan—and start using it—with expert guidance along the way.

Each week is designed to be simple: listen to the audio lesson, complete the worksheet, and take one next step.

In this 8-week program, you will:
Build a plan you’ll actually use (clear + doable)
Get expert support while you put it into action (so it doesn’t sit on a shelf)
Learn how to make small adjustments when something isn’t working—without losing momentum
Feel confident you are taking the right steps to help your child grow
By the end of the program, you’ll feel steady and empowered—because you’ll know how to support your child at home and what to do next.

Who It's For

This cohort is for you if:
Your child is struggling with reading, writing, or math
You want to support your child at home but you’re not sure where to start
Homework feels stressful, inconsistent, or hard to maintain
You want expert advice and a plan of action that's doable and built for your real life
Whether you’re just starting to notice learning challenges or you’ve been navigating them for a while, this cohort helps you move forward with clarity.

Why it Works

The Redwood Roadmap is built around The Redwood Method—the framework Redwood Literacy has developed for years to help families get clarity and build a plan that works in real life.

Each piece of the method is designed to help you make intentional choices, pull in resources that actually make a difference, and implement support in a way that feels realistic—so your plan doesn’t just sound good on paper. It actually happens.

Think of the Redwood Method as a roadmap you can return to anytime you need direction.

And because every student is different, the plan you build will be individualized—based on your child’s needs, your family’s routines, and what support makes sense right now.

What You'll Get

When you join the cohort, you get:
8 weeks of guided content for building and implementing your plan (audio modules + worksheets)
A Redwood Specialist cohort leader to guide and support your group
Cohort community message board access for questions, encouragement, and momentum

Does online tutoring actually work for kids with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia?

Yes! We've worked with an independent researcher since providing online services (2020), and the results are clear. Online tutoring is just as effective as in-person tutoring on average for our student population. If, after the three-month mark, we determine that online instruction is not working for your child, we will be transparent. It usually takes a bit of time to build rapport and learn the online tutoring structure, so be prepared for an adjustment period.

Where are you located?

Our headquarters are in the original Chicago storefront in Rogers Park, and now in Lincoln Park. However, our services can be accessed anywhere online, with access to an internet connection.
