Dyslexia Assessments
If your child works hard but still struggles to read fluently, avoid reading aloud, or guess at words, you may be wondering whether dyslexia could be the cause. Seeking a professional screening is the next right step.
At Redwood Literacy, our online dyslexia screening gives families practical, data-driven insight into how a child processes written language, so you can act early and with confidence.
Children who receive support early gain confidence and make faster progress. An assessment now can help your child avoid years of frustration and open the door to evidence-based instruction that works.
All of our assessments and written reports help you understand exactly why your child struggles, so you can stop guessing and start moving forward with clarity.

Who administers the assessment?
Redwood Literacy specialists trained in standardized assessment and structured literacy intervention.
Is the assessment online?
Yes. All dyslexia screenings are administered virtually through a secure platform or at one of our in person locations.
How soon will we get results?
You’ll receive a written report and professional recommendations within a few business days after your child’s appointment.
Will this diagnose dyslexia?
Not exactly. The FAR-SF doesn’t give a formal diagnosis, but it clearly indicates whether your child shows strong signs of dyslexia risk. The recommended supports are the same ones used for students with diagnosed dyslexia, so you can take immediate action.
Can additional tests be added?
If your specialist sees a need for more detail, they may suggest pairing additional assessments or our 20-Minute Academic Clarity Plan.

Redwood’s literacy and math specialists use standardized, research-backed tools to identify strengths, pinpoint skill gaps, and determine whether challenges are consistent with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or related learning differences. You’ll receive a detailed written report from a literacy specialist, and clear, practical recommendations you can use in school conversations, IEP or 504 planning, and intervention decisions.
