We believe every person should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed—regardless of financial circumstances.
Through our Redwood programs, we aim to bridge the educational gap, ensuring that children and adults from under-resourced communities and families facing financial hardship can attend Redwood Schools and literacy programs.
By cultivating hope and restoring confidence, we help students dramatically improve their literacy skills regardlessof socio-economic background or learning differences.
Helping young people who have been incarcerated, are on probation, or are on house arrest AND who have literacy skills below the 30th percentile.
Redwood Schools houses full- and half-day school programs, providing intervention to students in the Chicagoland area with dyslexia, dysgraphic, dyscalculia, and other learning differences.
Our one-of-a kind Group Journeys harness the power of highly-trained intervention specialists equipped with years of expertise, optimism, and proven effectiveness in closing the literacy gap for struggling readers.
Each year, we share updates and data-driven stories that show how your generosity translates into real, positive change.
From rising literacy rates to student success stories, you will see the powerful outcomes of your support in action.
Since 2021, Redwood has given over $440,000 in financial aid and helped nearly 300 students attend programs at a reduced rate or free!
In 2025, our goal is to provide a minimum of $50,000 to current private pay Redwood families that are re-enrolling for the 24/25 school year plus an additional $50,000 to incoming families who are not able to receive district funding.
You can also opt to make an annual donation to help sustain this program long-term, and Redwood Foundation’s for-profit programs will match contributions to maximize our impact.
