What are Flexible one-on-one Sessions?

Redwood is offering a new service this summer: flexible one-on-one sessions. We think parents are going to love this – because we’re parents too! And we know how precious flexibility is, especially in the midst of a busy summer. A powerful way to prevent summer learning loss, these virtual, individualized sessions are built around your child’s needs and organized around your schedule.

HOW IT WORKS

Let us know what you want your child to work on this summer, and we’ll begin with a placement consultation to determine what your child’s starting point is, what goals should be achieved by the end of the summer, and what instructor would be the best fit to help your child meet those goals.

Alternatively, you can click this link to schedule your sessions independently. You’ll choose one content area – reading, math, or written expression with assistive technology. Then you’ll see a list of the available instructors, along with short bios about them. Click “select” to see the instructors’ available hours. If you would rather do this booking over the phone or via email, just contact us at 773-309-4524 or email us at admissions@redwoodliteracy.com for support with scheduling.

SUMMER TUTORING AT ITS BEST

Here’s where things get extra flexible: after selecting one content area and one instructor, you can choose any sessions on that instructor’s calendar across the months of June, July, and August. You don’t need to commit to Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:00pm every week. You can do Monday/Wednesday afternoons one week and Tuesday/Thursday mornings the next week, as long as the instructor is available during those hours. Summertime involves a particularly inconsistent brand of busyness, and these flexible one-on-ones are designed to accommodate the summer hustle. We recommend 2-4 times a week depending on how much you want to prioritize literacy intervention amidst the other things your child has going on over the summer.

I’m currently working on booking my daughter’s schedule since our summer looks different week by week. She will log in four times a week during weeks we are at home and two times a week when we are on vacation. If flexibility is your number one need this summer, as it is for us, then this service is for your family.
