Bringing Redwood Home to East Nashville
At Redwood Literacy’s East Nashville tutoring center, students receive individualized reading and writing instruction from literacy specialists trained in structured, research-backed approaches.
Opening Redwood’s East Nashville tutoring center was deeply personal for co-founders Kait and Andre Feriante, who live in the community with their family.
After helping more than 3,500 students nationwide, with 91% demonstrating measurable progress, and earning recognition through partnerships with Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University, they have brought Redwood’s trusted approach home.

Expert Literacy Specialists
Redwood instructors aren’t general tutors. Every specialist is a licensed educator with advanced training in structured literacy and intervention, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and related learning differences. They know how to identify what’s causing a student to struggle and how to address it with precision.Our instructors are trained to work from data, adjust instruction intentionally, and communicate clearly with families. That means lessons evolve as skills improve, progress is measurable, and parents are never left guessing. Whether working one on one or in small groups, Redwood instructors bring consistency, expertise, and fun to all online service offerings.
Tennessee Education Savings Account (ESA)
Redwood has applied to become an approved provider for the Tennessee Education Savings Account (ESA) Program. Our application is pending, and we will update this page as soon as our status is confirmed. Students receive individualized instruction grounded in Orton-Gillingham, UFLI, and structured literacy, delivered by licensed literacy specialists. If your family participates in Tennessee’s ESA program, Redwood makes it simple to use your benefits for high-quality reading intervention through approved payment platforms, once our approval is confirmed.

I co-founded Redwood with Andre in Chicago in 2018 after teaching together in Chicago’s public and charter school systems, because we couldn’t find the right programs for kids who were smart but couldn’t read. We’ve worked with thousands of families since then. Andre and I moved to East Nashville in 2022 with our family, and this summer, we finally get to bring Redwood in-person to our new home community. If your child has been told they’re behind, I want to meet them.“

“I’m Andre. Around Nashville, some people know me as Sonny Luca. As a proud dyslexic myself, I understand firsthand what it feels like to struggle with reading and writing. I focus on combining empathy with research-based practices so students not only make progress, but also begin to see what is actually possible for their lives. Kait and I built Redwood together with that in mind.”
